Grade 11 animators wrap their first studio short with industry mentors
Eight weeks, one brief and a screening for parents and partners. Here is how the 3D Animation class built it.

Eight weeks ago the Grade 11 3D Animation class received a brief from one of our industry partners: a 60-second short with original characters, finished to a standard a studio would put its name on.
Students split into small crews for story, modeling, rigging, animation and lighting, the same way a production studio works. Mentors from the industry joined weekly reviews and gave notes the way they would to their own teams.
The finished short was screened for parents and partners at the end of the term. For most of the class it is the first piece in a portfolio they will keep building until graduation.
